We have just arrived home from a fantastic week in North Yorkshire, in a lovely old converted Dairy (with sea views from the front door!) on a farm in a village called Staintondale, almost halfway between Scarborough and Whitby, and just over a mile from the sea. The weather forecast for the week was absolutely dire, rain every day, and a maximum temperature of 17 degrees. Well, it was sunny every day, we both have suntans, and I wish I had taken shorts! How wrong can you be??!!
Just to whet your whistles, we visited the following places; Staintondale, Ravenscar, Whitby Abbey, Robin Hood's Bay, Boggle Hole, Falcon Inn, Rievaulx Abbey, Helmsley Castle, Ryeburn Tea Rooms in Helmsley, Bridlington beach, Wharram Percy, Filey, Sandsend, Ruswarp, Scarborough beach, Bryherstones Country Inn, Stoupe Beck Sands, and Rufford Abbey on the way home! Phew!
I now have over 2000 photos to sort through, so will return shortly with day by day accounts of our amazing week.
